The LaSalle Parish Healthy Initiative Coalition held their annual Fan Drive last Friday, June 13, at New Evergreen Baptist Church in Jena. Some 80 fans were distributed to local residents to combat the summer heat and several vendors were present to offer assistance in various health related services. The annual event began over a decade ago by Ron Carr and is held in conjunction with the Louisiana Department of Health, Louisiana Healthcare Connections, Hardtner Medical Center and others.
