A two-day in-person seminar was held recently and it consisted of mostly speeches from various politicians and orientation, alongside officer elections. The day started out with us members meeting in the exclusive Senate dining room on the lower level of the capitol building, in which we began preparation for the events ahead. I ran for president of LYAC, therefore my day mainly consisted of campaigning for the position. My opponents were Brinkley Bennet of St. Joseh’s Academy and Tre Bishop of Ascension Episcopal School, two very formidable candidates, with the former being a returning member and the latter being the son of Stewart Bishop, a very prominent former State Senator.
