Tigers Get ‘Trick’ Not ‘Treat’ on Halloween

This past Friday’s week 9 game was in Logansport where the LaSalle Tigers took on the Logansport Tigers. The long two- and half-hour drive was paired with the tall task of beating the number five team in the state, and throughout the game, LaSalle showed flashes of potential as a few turnovers were created by the Tiger defense.

In the end, the wrong LHS won this one with help from a very potent air attack and by taking advantage of the speed that the team brings to the field year in and year out.

To start the game just two plays in, LaSalle recovered a fumble from an overhead snap at midfield. This momentum was short-lived however from a three and out on the drive and the Tigers would have to try and overcome adversity early on.

Logansport threw for two touchdowns in the first quarter and got a blocked punt to start the second quarter.

The Tigers got close to a scoring opportunity on a strange play when Street ran for 20 yards then fumbled it, and then freshman Kasen Maxwell picked up and gained another 30 yards to bring it down to the five-yard line. Sadly, the Tigers had a high snap of their own that resulted in a stalled drive.

Logansport scored two more times, one on a pass and one on a run. Following that, the Tigers answered with the bright spot of the game with a 21-yard pass from Street to Finley making it 28– 6. With successful twopoint conversion pass to Alex Richmond, the Tigers ended the half on a high note with a score of 28-8.

In the second half, the defense held firmer with help from a Wyatt King interception and the Tigers recovering another fumble. But even with the four turnovers created by the defense throughout the game, the final score ended up Logansport 42, La-Salle 8.

The goal of a home playoff reach is still in place for your 16th ranked LaSalle Tigers; all that is needed is to beat the longtime rival Montgomery at home for senior night this Thursday!

Show support for the seniors and this team as they attempt to set themselves up for success to make a playoff push!
