The Future is Bright for LHS Basketball

The 2025–26 campaign for the LaSalle Lady Tigers will be remembered as one defined by growth, resilience, and meaningful wins that signaled the program’s continued upward trajectory.

While the season came to an end with a tough 81–23 playoff loss to district rival Logansport, the final score does little to overshadow what was, by nearly every measure, a very successful year for LaSalle.

Throughout the season, the Lady Tigers proved they could compete beyond their classification, earning an impressive victory over larger- school opponent Caldwell Parish High School. That win alone demonstrated the team’s ability to rise to the moment and challenge programs with deeper rosters and more kids to choose from.

Even more encouraging were district victories that showed just how much the program has grown. LaSalle defeated both Lakeview, a team with a championship pedigree—and Northwood, two opponents that have traditionally presented challenges for the Lady Tigers. Those wins marked clear progress and reflected the team’s increasing confidence and maturity.

Under the leadership of head coach Todd Long, LaSalle once again reached the postseason, reinforcing a trend that has become the norm rather than the exception. Long’s teams have built a reputation for competing deep into the year, and this season added another chapter to that legacy. His ability to consistently guide the Lady Tigers into playoff contention speaks not only to strong coaching, but also to a culture of preparation and accountability that continues to shape the program.

With a new district alignment on the horizon, optimism surrounds the Lady Tigers. They already hold a victory over future district opponent Delta Charter, an early sign that LaSalle can be competitive in its upcoming district landscape. Combined with returning experience and the confidence gained from this season’s successes, the foundation is firmly in place for continued progress.

Though the playoff loss to Logansport marked the end of the journey, it did not define it. The Lady Tigers showed growth, earned signature wins, and once again represented their school and community with pride. If this season proved anything, it’s that LaSalle basketball is not just maintaining its standard it’s building toward something even stronger in the years to come.

The same could be said for the Tigers as well. The 2025–26 season marked a step forward for the LaSalle Tigers, as the program finished with an 11–15 record — its first double-digit win total in several years and a clear sign of progress on the court.

While the record alone tells part of the story, the bigger takeaway from the season was the renewed sense of energy surrounding the program. Under the leadership of head coach Michael Duke and Asst. Coach David Rader, the Tigers showed steady improvement, competitiveness, and a stronger identity as the year progressed. Players bought into the system, and that commitment translated into more consistent performances, hard-fought games, and a noticeable shift in the team’s confidence. The Tigers were more physical, more disciplined, and more resilient; qualities that often define programs on the rise.

Beyond the wins and losses, the season helped lay a foundation for the future. With a coaching staff focused on development and culture, LaSalle appears to be building something sustainable rather than chasing short-term success. If this season was any indication, the Tigers are moving in the right direction. With momentum on their side and a revitalized program taking shape, LaSalle basketball looks poised to continue climbing in the seasons ahead.

Thank you to the seniors for a memorable year and the many great performances on the hardwood for that made the community proud. We look forward to seeing what you accomplish in life next. As always, Go Tigers and Go Lady Tigers!
