Lady Tigers stay Red Hot

The LaSalle Lady Tigers softball team is hitting its stride at exactly the right time, stringing together a dominant three‑game run that showcased sharp pitching, timely hitting, and a whole lot of momentum heading into a busy week ahead.

LaSalle set the tone early on Monday, March 30, rolling past Georgetown 11–1 in a game that never felt close. The Lady Tigers’ offense came out firing, stacking up runs while the defense kept Georgetown from gaining any traction. It was the kind of complete performance that Coach Todd Long must love to see to start a week, especially in front of the home crowd.

During the Georgetown game, Kinley Morris collected four hits in four at bats, Morris doubled in the fourth inning, doubled in the fifth inning, doubled in the second inning, and singled in the first inning.

Hatfield earned the win for the Lady Tigers. She gave up three hits and one run over five innings, striking out two and walking one.

On Tuesday, March 31, the Lady Tigers carried that energy straight into a key district matchup against Montgomery, also played in the friendly confines of Tiger Park in Olla. LaSalle controlled the game from the first pitch, taking an 8–3 victory and tightening their grip as the #1 team in district play.

The lineup delivered clutch hits throughout the game, and the pitching staff kept Montgomery’s offense in check when it mattered most.

Landry Long shined in this game as she took over offensively and defensively, getting the momentum on the Lady Tigers side and keeping it. In the second inning, Long hit a grand slam over the center field wall and on the mound Long struck out 12 batters on the day. She allowed four hits and three runs over seven innings while walking two.

Steen led the team with three hits in four at bats. Lexi Lasiter, Addy Taylor, and Jules Beaubouef each collected multiple hits for LaSalle as well.

On Thursday, April 2, LaSalle and Georgetown met again, this time in Georgetown, and the result was familiar. The Lady Tigers secured a 5–1 win, completing the season sweep and proving their consistency across the board.

Strong defense backed up another solid outing in the circle, while the offense continued to find ways to manufacture runs. The Lady Tigers racked up 15 hits in the game.

Lasiter led the way with two runs batted in. The second baseman went 2-for-3 on the day. Leah Steen went for four hits in four at bats and Kinley Morris, Taylor, and Emeree Gagne each collected multiple hits as well.

The girls were very disciplined in the field and didn’t commit a single error. Morris had the most chances in the field with 11 looks at the ball heading her way but held strong defensively.

With three wins in four days, LaSalle has built serious momentum and they’ll need it. LaSalle now turns its attention to another full slate of games next week: Monday, April 6 at 5:00 p.m. vs. Monterey; Thursday, April 9 at 4:00 p.m. vs. Northwood‑Lena; and Friday, April 10 vs. Caldwell (Senior Night).

The girls look to close the week by making sure they send the seniors off the right way with a win.

Come and keep showing the #1 team in the state support as they continue the quest to go back-to-back in Sulphur and capture the program’s fifth state championship. Go Lady Tigers!
