Throughout history, Americans have lifted up fervent prayers to God on behalf of our nation. From the first gatherings of our Founding Fathers through every year’s Presidential Proclamation of the National Day of Prayer, our nation rallies around common needs and themes to draw into prayer. This year, the National Day of Prayer 2026 theme is, “Glorify God Amont the Nations, Seeking Him in All Generations,” coming from the scripture found in 1 Chronicles 16:24: “Tell of His glory among the nations, His wonderful deeds among fall the peoples.” NASB LaSalle Parish will conduct two prayer gatherings on Thursday, May 7, each beginning at noon. The Jena prayer event will be held on the LaSalle Parish Courthouse lawn. In the event of rain, it will be held inside the LaSalle Parish Police Jury’s meeting room. The Olla prayer event will be held at the Olla Farmer’s Market pavilion at the intersection of Front Street and Central Avenue.
