Several LaSalle Parish residents attended events Thursday, May 7, as part of the National Day of Prayer.
In Jena, residents met on the lawn of the LaSalle Parish Courthouse where various pastors and community leaders led in prayers, while in Olla, residents met at the Dixie Center Courtyard where they worshipped and prayed.
The annual event’s them for 2026 was “Glorify God Among the Nations, Seeking Him in All Generations” taken from 1 Chronicles 16:24.
The National Day of Prayer has been a public outcrying of prayers since it became law in 1952.
Along with praying for the nation in general, specific prayers were offered for various aspects of the country, including government, military and more.
