Scott Ganey

Larry Scott Ganey, 58, of Jena, passed from this life on Friday, December 22 2023.

He was born October 23, 1965 in Alexandria, LA to the union of his parents, Ira Clarence “Butch” Ganey Jr. and Virginia Nell “Ginger” Davis Ganey.

Scott was a graduate of Jena High School in 1983. He owned and operated a barbershop in Jena.

Services were held at 1 p.m., Saturday, December 23, 2023, at Oak Grove Baptist Church, with Revs. Johnnie Phillips and Scotty McDowell officiating.

Interment followed in the Woodland Cemetery, Jena, under the direction of Kinner & Stevens Funeral Home.

He was preceded in death by his parents and grandparents.

Those left to love and miss him include his wife of 39 years Lisa Lynette Stockman Ganey; daughters and extended daughters, LaRae Ganey, Chelsea Ganey, Cheyenne Ganey, Chelsea Hughes, Peyton Reeves, Angel Williams, Katie Fuqua and Lauren Boyd; an extended son, Cody Hemperley; a sister, Janine Ganey Brown (Chad); a brother, Curt Ganey (Krista); nephews, Cody Brown, Logan Brown, Bryson Ganey and Cutler Ganey; niece, Kinlie Ganey; great niece, Raelynn Brown; in-laws Dewey & Delores Stockman and Angela & Randall Netherland; granddaughters, Finley Hughes, Mattie Benefield and Emma Benefield; grandson, Jaxon Bolgiano; and a host of other family and dear friends.

Pallbearers were Chad Brown, Cody Brown, Logan Brown, Bryson Ganey, Cutler Ganey and Cody Hemperley.

Honorary pallbearers were Lance Breland, Dewey Stockman, Lawson Little, D’wayne Bailey, Terry Bradford, Lester Francis, Don Moses, Scott McLendon, Walker Alexander, Brent Sharp, Kevin Bacle, Charlie Doughty, Chris Doughty, David Delaney, L.A. Overstreet, Tillman Saucier and Sonny Wactor.
