LaSalle Loses Despite Great Offense

Even though the LaSalle Tigers collected ten hits to only three hits by the Montgomery Tigers, they still fell 9-4 on Thursday, March 21. Kale Murphrey led LaSalle Tigers with three hits.

A ground out by Haiden N. put Montgomery on the board in the bottom of the first inning.

Cutler Ganey grounded out, which helped La-Salle tie the game at one in the top of the third.

With Montgomery leading 2-1, heading into the fifth inning Canaan Stowe singled scoring two runs giving the lead back to LaSalle. In the bottom of the fifth inning, Montgomery would take the lead for good after three walks and two singles.

Mason J. earned the win for Montgomery. The hurler surrendered ten hits and four runs over six and two-thirds innings, striking out two and walking three.

Brady Tatum took the loss for LaSalle. The lefty went four and one-third innings, surrendering five runs (one earned) on three hits, striking out seven and walking seven.

LaSalle collected ten hits in the game. Canaan Stowe drove the middle of the lineup, leading LaSalle with two RBI’s. Stowe went two for four on the day. Cooper Stowe collected two hits in three at-bats.

This week’s opponent is the Logansport Tigers, as LaSalle faced Logansport on Tuesday and will host Logansport on Thursday, March 28 in Olla.

Tiger fans are encouraged to continue packing the stands to cheer on these guys as they are playing hard to make the school and community proud. Hope to see you at the games.
