LaSalle Lady Tigers

LaSalle Lady Tigers

The LaSalle Lady Tigers handled business properly at the end of the regular season climbing to the #4 rank in the Division IV Non-Select power points. This climb secured the team a first-round bye where they had the week off awaiting the winner of the #13 DeQuincy and #20 Basile game held over the weekend. DeQuincy went on to crush Basile in the first round 19-4 making them the opponent for the Lady Tigers in the second round. LaSalle, with a win in the second round, has an opportunity to host a third-round game. LaSalle will take on DeQuincy at the newly renovated LaSalle High School softball complex in Olla on Tuesday, April 16th. The Lady Tigers are no strangers to 2A teams, as they have played several this season getting ready for this post season. Now that the new division format is being used, there are several 2A teams playing 1A teams in the playoffs. The Lady Tigers have no preference to their opponent if they continue to play softball. A win against De-Quincy will have the Lady Tigers face the winner of the #5 French Settlement and #12 Mangham game (which was also played the first part of this week) in a quarterfinal matchup again in Olla. A win in the quarterfinal round will punch their ticket back to the state championship tournament in Sulphur, where the semi-final and finals games will be played.
