LaSalle Falls to Lakeside 46-22

The LaSalle Tigers traveled for three hours to play the Lakeside Warriors this past Friday night. The Tigers fell to Lakeside 46-22 in this contest to move their record to 0–2 overall with another long road trip coming up this coming Friday night. The Tigers will travel to Merryville to take on the 1-1 Panthers that are coming off a non-district loss to Vinton.

LaSalle was able to get the offense going last Friday against Lakeside as they were able to gather almost 300 yards on offense. Tuff Street amassed over 300 all-purpose yards in this game. Along with all the yards, Street would have three touchdowns on the night.

Adding to Street’s offensive totals, Braedan Cummings added 44 yards on 5 carries. Cummings also added a 2-point conversion. Wyatt King would add 20 yards rushing on 9 carries. King would also have a 2-point conversion. The Tigers will look to add to these totals in the coming weeks. It was good to see the young Tiger offense get on the board this week. These young Tigers are working hard to get better every week.

The Tiger defense added some new names to the tackling list. Jesse Langley, Daniel Stowe, Derek Valentine and Parker Brown all contributed on defense with Brown having 5 tackles.

Another new name added to the tackle list was Alex Richmond, sophomore defensive back, who had 9 tackles on the night. Braedan Cummings would have 8 tackles and Tuff Street would lead all defenders with 10 tackles. This young defense works hard every week. They are growing up before our eyes and will be special before graduation.

The Tigers will once again be on the road this coming week. La-Salle will travel to Merryville to take on the Panthers. LaSalle will look to get into the win column this week as Merryville is rebuilding just like the Tigers. This game will be one of two young teams going to battle.

If you cannot make the trip, make sure to tune in to Sandlot Sports Network as Jason and Eli Peppers will bring you all the play-by-play action of the Tigers this season.

If you happen to come across one of these young Tigers, this year make sure to tell them how proud you are of their efforts. They are really working hard along with the coaches to make this school and community proud.

Hope to see you at the games.
