Tigers Dominate Pickering For Win #2

The LaSalle Tiger offense exploded for 53 points in the second straight week to pick up win number two on the season after dominating the Pickering Red Devils last Friday night in Pickering.

With the 53-6 in over Pickering, the Tigers are now 2-3 overall with District 3-1A play starting this Friday in Olla. LaSalle once again scored six touchdowns with the running game and scored once through the air. The Tigers completed another 400-yard game on offense and completely dominated the Pickering Red Devils.

Tuff Street would lead all Tiger rushers with 176 yards and two touchdowns. Wyatt King would also have two touchdowns and Aidan Billingsley and Mason Lee would add a touchdown each. Jessey Stowe would not get into the end zone for a touchdown, but he would gain 76 yards rushing and three, two-point conversions. Caiden Finley would get on the scoreboard after catching a Mason Lee 28-yard pass. The Tiger offense would be clicking on all cylinders on this night and that is a good place to be with District 3-1A play starting at home this week.

The Tiger defense would hold Pickering to only six points on the night. A heavy rush led by Cutler Ganey and Braedan Cummings, who would account for the only two sacks on the night. Stephen Fowler would recover a fumble, Jessey Stowe and Tuff Street would each add an interception. The Tiger defense would play lights out for all four quarters and help secure the win.

LaSalle will host Lakeview this coming Friday night to open District 3-1A play. Lakeview is new to the district this season. Lakeview started the season 0-5 and have yet to score, but looking at their pre-district schedule they have played some stiff competition. The record does not reflect what kind of football team they are bringing to Olla this week.

The Tigers are starting to jell at the right time and it will take this momentum to get through district play. The young Tigers are becoming the team that they have worked for all summer.

Let’s pack the stands this coming Friday night to cheer on these guys that have worked so hard to make this school and community proud.

If you can’t make it to the games, be sure to tune in to Sandlot Sports Network as Jason and Eli Peppers, bring you all the playby- play action. Sandlot Sports Network would not be possible without the support of Ace Family Hardware of Jena. Thanks for your continued support. Hope to see you at the games.
