LaSalle Parish Election Results

LaSalle Parish Clerk of Court Steve Andrews has released the following November 5, 2024 election results, showing that Donald J. Trump was the overwhelming choice for President of the United States for voters of the parish.

Trump (R), with Vice-Presidential running mate J.D. Vance, carried LaSalle with 91% of the total vote with 6,023 votes.

Kamala Harris (D), with Vice-Presidential running mate Tim Walz, received 8% of the total vote with 546 votes.

This is the highest percentage of votes Trump has received in LaSalle Parish. In 2020, he received 90% of the vote and in 2019 he received 89% of the vote.

LaSalle had a 75% voter turnout for the Presidential Election, with a total of 6,620 voters casting ballots. This percentage is down from 2020, when 7,077 voters voted translating to a  78.1% voter turnout.

As of this time Tuesday night, a clear winner for the office of President has yet to be determined as votes are still being tallied across the nation, especially in key swing states.

Incumbent 5th Congressional District Congresswoman Julia Letlow (R) was the top vote getter for LaSalle in that race, garnering 5,709 votes or 73%.

Her challengers, M.V. “Vinny” Mednoza (R) and Michael Vallien Jr. (D) received 5% and 6% respectfully.

The sole other item on the ballot was a Louisiana Constitutional Amendment asking voters if certain federal revenues received by the state should be deposited into the Coastal Protection and Restoration Fund.

LaSalle voters approved the amendment 65% to 35%, or 4,039 “yes” votes to 2,190 “no” votes.

More LaSalle Parish election results will be featured in next week’s newspaper, including a precinct by precinct breakdown.
