Library Summer Story Hour

Free Mixed Media Camp

The Strand Village Project #thrive will offer a free art and technology camp this summer in Jena and Urania. The #thrive Tech: Photography & Mixed Media Camp for 5-12th graders will be held June 9-12 and 16-19 in both Jena and Urania. This is a great opportunity for youth to explore the art of iPad Pro photography and design work using mixed media.

The Jena camp will be held from 9 a.m. to noon at the LaSalle Parish Library (3165 North First Street) in Jena. The Urania camp will be held from 2-5 p.m. at the Urania Recreation Hall. The #thrive staff for both camps will be instructor Kim Aldrich and site coach Cheryl Otwell.

VBS at Jena First Baptist

Jena First Baptist Church will have VBS on Monday, June 2 – Friday, June 6, from 9 a.m. to noon. All children who have completed kindergarten through 5th grade are invited. This year’s theme is Magnified, “Discovering the bigness of God in the smallest of things”.

Free Intermediate Theater Camp

The Strand Village Project #thrive will once again offer a free youth theater camp this summer in Jena.

The #thrive Arts Intermediate Theater Camp for 7-12th graders (for Fall 2025) will be held July 7-11 and 14-17 from 2-5 p.m. at the JHS Auditorium. This camp is a great opportunity for youth to go beyond the basics of theater as well as assist with and perform in Newsies Jr. musical.

The performance will be on Friday, July 18 at 6 p.m. at the JHS Auditorium. Admission is free.

The #thrive staff for the camp will be JHS Drama instructor Tracy Joy and site coach Holly Grant. Enrollment is free. Space is limited. Register now at www.agreaterlasalle.com.

Free Beginner Theater Camp

The Strand Village Project #thrive will once again offer a free youth theater camp this summer in Jena.
