Several public events took place last Tuesday, November 11, as LaSalle Parish stopped to recognize all military veterans on Veterans Day. Shown in top photo is Miss LSUA 2025 Madison Brown singing the National Anthem during the parish Veterans Day program held at the Jena Town Park amphitheater. In the bottom left photo, Jake Long and Thomas Nowlin Jr. were presented Quilts of Valor at the Olla Veterans Day program held at the Centennial Cultural Center and in the bottom right photo, veteran Daniel Hulsey hugs his two-and-a-half-year-old granddaughter, Ophelia, before the start of the Jena program. Several Veterans Day stories, features and pictures are in this issue, along with our special Veterans Day Special Section.
